A few things you should know...

Chemung Valley Early Care & Learning, licenced by NYS Office of Children and Family Service, primarily serves children of NYS employees. When room is available, we also enroll children from the community. The Elmira branch cares for children from six weeks old until they turn six years old. The Horseheads branch serves children ages 6 weeks to 12 years of age. There are separate classrooms for the different ages served, which are each staffed by a lead teacher and an assistant teacher (if needed.)
 
Our staff to child ratio is as follows:
 
Ages 6 weeks to 18 months: 1 staff member for every 4 children.
Ages 18 mo's to 3 years: 1 staff for every 5 children.
Ages 3 to 4 years: 1 staff for every 7 children.
Ages 5 to 12 years: 1 staff for every 10 children.
All staff members are supervised and evaluated by the Director. 
 
Parents are encouraged to observe the classrooms prior to their child's enrollment and to bring the child to visit for a few hours before starting him/her full time.

Current completed physical form
Blue Card/Emergency Card
General Information form regarding child
Authorization for pick-up form
Permission slips
CACFP eligibility form
Fee Agreement

Our philosophy is simple; we want you, as a parent or guardian, to partner with us to nurture the potential in your child. We welcome every child, regardless of race, economic background, or social status.
